I Lost Weight, I am Back to Dating and Feeling Great

What Motivates you to be Healthy and Lose Weight?

I’m staying motivated by reminding myself that I used to be a fit athlete, not an overweight couch potato.  I don’t play sports anymore, so my old eating habits are impossible to duplicate.  I’m getting back into exercising and changing my diet. It’s not easy but I have changed my way of thinking and living and now I feel great!

Do’s and Don’ts of Dating

There are no quick and straight forward rules to dating, but here are some tips that won’t do you any harm.

Do let go of the past. It’s done. Build yourself a small bridge and get over it. Quit telling your story, it’s boring and new potential mates do not want to hear it.

Don’t jump straight into another relationship. Take some time to adjust,  you need to be alone for a while to rediscover who you are and what you want.

Do find a balance. Seek love and companionship, but don’t make it your whole life. Get a hobby. Ride a bike or go to you local gym. Keep your self busy.

Do build relationships with other single people,  it’s depressing being the odd ball  in a crowd of couples.

Don’t get drunk on dates. It’s pathetic and leads to moments of awkwardness later.

Don’t come on too strong. It’s unattractive, and you’re dating, not stalking. Keep the mystery and let things progress naturally on their own.

Don’t introduce the person you’re seeing to your friends and family too early, it’s tempting when you’re used to being part of a couple, but is overwhelming for the other person.

Do be open,  rigid rules about a certain ‘type’ of person you prefer, may mean that you’ll dismiss somebody lovely.

Do maintain your self-respect, go easy with sharing information. There’s plenty of time to get to know each other, no early soul-baring. It reeks of desperation.

Don’t take it all too seriously. Approach it with a sense of openness and fun. Flirt a bit, enjoy it all, and you’ll be infinitely more attractive!
